How dates are counted

  • For a calculated schedule, the date you enter is the first day, and every other date is that day plus a whole number of days: from the label or, in the pack tool's format mode, from the pack size you enter. A date your clinic gave you, entered in the Depo tool's clinic-date mode, is kept exactly as entered.
  • Dates are calendar dates with no time of day, so month ends, leap days, year ends and clock changes don't move them.
  • "Today" is your device's date. It is used only to count the days since a date, to mark dates as passed, and to check what you enter. For review-by dates, the later of your device's date and our server's date is used.
  • Dates are written with the weekday, for example Saturday, 13 February 2027.
  • A time-of-day instruction, such as taking a ring out at about the same time, is shown as text only. The tools don't use the time of day, except for the optional calendar alert, which is set for the morning of each date.

Review and re-checks

Every product record has a review-by date, shown in the table. Once it passes, the tool withholds that product's schedule until the record has been re-checked, and the product's status line links its official label, under "Official product information". For each product, the version of its main label document (the US label or the UK SmPC) is recorded in the evidence ledger, and a script compares it with the current version on DailyMed or the EMC. The UK patient leaflet used for the ring note is not part of this check. The last check, on 31 October 2026, found no changes.

Your leaflet and your clinician come first

If the leaflet in your pack or your clinician gives a different date or instruction, follow them. Labels are updated, and your situation may not be routine.
